Santa, Why Must You Go?
(A funny Christmas song)
It was Christmas morning, and underneath the tree
Fifty-Hundred presents, that you had left for me
And all at once I felt the love, I never knew I had
You’re the one who loves me Santa. Not my mom and dad
And oh Santa, Why Santa must you go?
They were hard to live with, they made me do my chores
They never listened to me, they made me live indoors
And on your lap I did reveal, the things I wanted most
A robot-laser-submarine – they laughed like that’s a Joke
And oh Santa, Why Santa must you go?
Why Santa, Do they say we all grow up?
Why Santa? I’m no want to give you up
I’m not going to give you up so soon
A couple-three years later, my brothers had to tell
Our presents were delivered in a rusty Bonneville
Well, that can’t be true just count the cookies Santa must have had
Now, who else could have done that, tell me? …mom and dad? Mom? Dad?...
Whoa Santa, oh did you go?
Well twenty-five years later, it occurred to me
Now that I’m a father, Santa’s legacy
Someone who would listen, who was always there for me
Santa used to do that, now instead there’s therapy
And oh, Santa… best of all Santa you were free
Fifty-Hundred presents, that you had left for me
And all at once I felt the love, I never knew I had
You’re the one who loves me Santa. Not my mom and dad
And oh Santa, Why Santa must you go?
They were hard to live with, they made me do my chores
They never listened to me, they made me live indoors
And on your lap I did reveal, the things I wanted most
